Ultra light tie downs were a practical alternative to using foam plastic chocks, after the wind rolled the S4 away at a fly-in. Two types are:
Plastic screw-in pickets (Graham's S6) or
Crossed straight pegs.
The latter are easy to set without really having to carry a hammer, or require a screwdriver cum Tommy bar. Use 6 long Ali rods (tent pegs) two per tie down, & 1/8" Ali sheet bent and cross angle drilled to suit, as per pic. The whole should be sufficient to match the plane's strength: with thin cord their total weight is 4 oz. The soil holds the pegs about 90 degrees opposed & the Ali link prevents pulling one peg straight out. I think repeated jerking would loosen them, so they're not a windy long term option.
