It really seems to rejuvenate the Rans fabric. The only thing I've noticed is I can't stick on patch afterwards as it repels everything.
In the U.K.& recommended by BMAA folk (from Andy Buchan at £10 / litre) is a similar looking product Nikwax UV protectant, they claim it can double the life of treated materials, and being water based I can not see how it can cause harm.
So I used it on the S4 & S6 top surfaces fabric after washing as instructed, May 2011.(mike)
Halfords are said do "Armor All" protectant which is apparently the same stuff, but cheaper. "It has very good UV resistance and is very good for windsocks. When you apply it, spray onto a sponge and then wipe on aircraft. If you spray directly on aircraft, you will use excessive quantities".
